Dear Hunter

DEAR HUNTER is a spatial-anthropological research practice based in Liège (B) and Heerlen (NL) founded by Marlies Vermeulen (BE, 1986) and Remy Kroese (NL, 1981).
Dear Hunter produces maps and atlases through qualitative fieldwork which incorporates relatively long periods of living and working on-site. Aiming at grasping ‘the silence of the social’ (Hirschauer, 2006), their maps can be interpreted within both the artistic and the architectural field, as they critically reflect on specific socio-spatial circumstances but also deliver hands-on insights for spatial planning.
In 2016, Dear Hunter founded the ‘Institute of Calibration’, with which they reflect upon artistic research methods in collaboration with experts and students from various universities.
